IPRT League Local Area Coordinators

We are receiving applications for Local Area Coordinators and the new appointments will be made soon in areas which do not have IPRT league representation.
Coordinators benefits include 20 league points every month as bonus which will be added to the leaderboard to their name and will be accounted in the overall rankings. This will be in addition to the points they accumulate participating in League Tournaments.
Coordinators may participate at special for "Coordinators Only Events" including Boot-Camps, special tournaments and Buy-in tournaments in Goa where they would enjoy special privileges and preferences.
Coordinators will be invited to participate at Regional Seminars where we will have International and Indian speakers (Professional poker players)and Boot-Camps supervised by these Pro's.
Only Coordinators can run for elections for City level and District level offices.

to become a coordinator, i feel i need to and must meet someone from PIE or IPRT one to understand few things. Also, have alot of questions/doubts which requires clarity and then only i will be able to convince others.

As I understand, one of the key job of local coordinator will be to conduct free (non buy-in) events among local poker enthusiasts. My question is will IPRT admin provide any kind of air cover, (getting proper permissions etc from cops/authorities) to conduct such games.

I remember one incident when some of friends had such a game - no real money involved. Police came in and despite finding no cash, they didnt want to go away without bribes. How will the IPRT handle cases like this. If they can get a letter from local authorities (high enough), that is enough to show legitimacy of the game, then I can sign up to be the coordinator.

Raj, we will not hold any live tournaments except in Goa though they are without any money.
Even our league points tourneys will be held in Goa in legalized casinos that have table gaming licence.
Co-ordinators will be responsible for managing their teams for special boot-camps for their area, qualifiers, playoffs etc. All events will be held only in Goa though.

Jim, My question is precisely wrt holding qualifiers/playoffs etc.. Even while conducting these in the local areas - there is a chance of being harassed by unknowledgable cop or just someone who wants to be bribed. Some kind of permission for allowing these would be a good cover in such cases.

i guess the only solution is online poker.. no one wud take the risk to host an event at their own responsibility..

Raj, we will hold qualifiers and playoffs including freerolls online ONLY. No IPRT live tournament anywhere in India except Goa and Sikkim for now. I must repeat, not even a single tourney, including for league points which is totally free and without money nor boot-camps which is only training, shall be organized anywhere in India except Goa or Sikkim and that too at casinos which have table gaming permits.
Online tourneys will be thru poker rooms which have gaming permits wherever they are situated. IPRT will not be a part of it in any way and not responsible for the poker rooms either. IPRT will just negotiate to avail of a platform that they will provide from their jurisdiction and try to get the best deal for members, for example, a weekly free roll of lets say US $ 50 and may be some other freebies. IPRT will check the antecedents of the poker room and try to get a safe provider. IPRT will be indemnified against the actions of poker rooms. Members will have to decide whether they want to participate or not.
Its like anyone playing at, say, Poker Stars or FullTilt or any other poker room.
IPRT cordinators will not hold any form of tournament in their respective areas whatsoever. They will just perform a leadership role for their respective teams and will coordinate with IPRT reg same. Just a little bit of paper work. Any boot-camp or tourney will be organzed for that area team at Goa by IPRT only and the area coordinators will play managerial roles at these events.
Overall, coordinators will be in charge of the local membership base of the league. It will give the league a good foundation and at the same time a direct link with the individual member thru the coordinator.
Further, it will be only the coordinators who will be eligible to stand for elections for various posts like City, District, State and Regional levels.
National level posts will be nominated from amongst the Regional level officers who would really be the original coordinators.
