      Hey guys,

I finally managed to get myself registered on the site - it took me 3 different logins Smile No worries - I think its great to see fellow desi poker playas on 1 forum & I look forward to meeting all of you in person across the felt soon!

Just a brief background - I'm originally from Pune but have been staying in Dubai & now Shenzhen,China for a while which makes Macau a ferry ride for me so I'm there pretty often.

Just recently was at the APT & the APPT tourneys in Macau & it was great to play with Johnny Chan, David Chino Rheem & some of the other pro's ..you guys should make it here next year!

Anyways getting back to business - here are my thoughts regarding the upcoming Sep tourney & I hope it works out soon cos I need to book my flights!

      1. Is it possible to organize & hold weekly multi-city satellites with like a 1000 Rs. buyin & then winner gets subsidized entry/travel package into the Goa tourney? This would serve 2 purposes of getting more people as winners & more importantly making more noise about the IPRT & getting more people signed up/involved. This is how the guys do it in HK where gambling is also illegal but it works great & they 2 leagues going there.

      2. Incase the tourney is unfeasible due to lack of numbers I say even if theres 15 of us ready to play lets organize a weekend tournament among ourselves in Goa on Sep 25,26,27 with a decent buy-in & rebuys/addon so that we got a nice prize pool going & we'll have a good time!

My point is this is only going to spread in India when a lot of like minded people like us physically get together more often & then get more people, friends along.

Slow & steady but I have faith in the "juaari" side in all our brothers(& sisters - my wife plays too & kicks me everytime I make poker a mans game Wink)

So lemme know what you guys think & I apologize in case someones already put up these ideas on another post that I'm unaware of!

Biggie.. Welcome to IPRT.. How are the games in Macau? Do you play at Lisboa? I played one weekend while transiting at Cotai strip - Grand Waldo.. The games were very looose and sparse.. I think now they have shut down their room now!

Hey Raj - thanks for the welcome buddy!
Yup - the Waldo's shut down now..but the Lisboa's doin very well now since their partnership with Pokerstars..always lots of cash tables & big weekend tourneys there. The Wynn is where I like playing personally & a few others now too as poker is really becoming more popular with the Chinese now too.
APT - na man..played 2 side-events & busted about 10th in both - I'm beginning to prefer the cash games a lot more - games where some guy whos got 56 off-suite cant call your all-in AK & win with 2 pair Smile

Back to the tourney - I leave it to Jim & all of you to decide the best way to get some action going in Goa.

Now this is a different topic! Smile However, I am more likely to call a raise with 56 in a cash game than in a tournie... Smile and also one is less likely to push the whole stack allin in cash game with AK than in a tournie..
